Which sounds like you?

Three sentences we hear every week. Each one has a physical answer.

“I’m afraid of falling.”

A full balance assessment, then a progressive stability programme built from your numbers. We measure again every twelve weeks so you can see it working.

“I’m losing strength and I can feel it.”

Resistance training scaled to your joints — including replaced ones — not to a bodybuilder’s. We work around arthritis, not through it.

“I don’t want to end up in a home.”

Functional independence, trained directly: stairs, getting up off the floor, carrying groceries, reaching into the back seat.

Credentials & safety

Often it is an adult son or daughter making this decision. This part is written for them.

  • Police record check with vulnerable sector screening. We come into homes, so we answer this before you have to ask.
  • Fully insured — $[X]M liability. Certificate available on request.
  • Current CPR / AED and Standard First Aid.
  • Every client completes a PAR-Q medical screening before anything is loaded.
  • We will speak to your physiotherapist, chiropractor or family doctor and send them the assessment report, with your permission.
  • Certified [XX] years. [Certification logos to be added]

Questions

The things people ask on the phone

Do I need to be fit already?
No. Most people who call us haven’t exercised in years, and a good number have had a fall or a scare. The assessment tells us exactly where you are, and we start from there. There is no minimum fitness level.
I’m 78. Am I too old for this?
No. Strength and balance respond to training at every age — the research on this is unambiguous, and the gains in the eighties and nineties are proportionally larger, not smaller.
What if I have arthritis, a replaced knee, or osteoporosis?
That’s common here, and it changes how we train you, not whether we train you. Every client completes a PAR-Q medical screening first, and if you have a condition needing clearance we’ll ask your doctor before we start.
Is online really effective for balance training?
Yes, with two conditions: the instructor must be able to see you, and you must have something sturdy to hold. Our classes are small enough that we watch every person, and we set your space up safely first.
